Welcome to the blog for It's Meow or Never Animal Rescue, a 501(c)(3), non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization. We rescue cats and dogs and after having them seen by the vet, we adopt them to loving, forever homes. Please come back often as we will try and update this site every day.
Please contact us if you need adoption assistance with an animal - if you provide a photo of the animal, we can list it on national databases to help find it a suitable home.
Please*do not* ever give your animal away for free ... learn why.

If you can donate anything at all for him, we would appreciate it deeply. We canʼt afford all of this but he needs us to help him.
Please go to www.itsmeowornever.org and donate for him. He was really scared today at the vet's office. :(

Re: It’s Meow or Never Animal Rescue & Sanctuary Paws For A Cause Auction,
May 2009
My name is Layla Colegrove and I am the chairperson for the 2009 Annual Online “Paws for a Cause” auction to benefit It’s Meow or Never Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3), non-profit, no-kill organization. At It’s Meow or Never Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, we have a goal of raising $15,000 from this event. These funds will allow us to open an adoption center in the local area which will allow us to rescue and rehabilitate more animals in dire need. Last year’s auction web page is located at http://www.itsmeowornever.org/auction and will be updated every day.
We would love to have you help us with our auction by donating a gift certificate, product or service for our auction. In exchange, we can provide advertising on our auction web site with a link back to your company web site. Additionally, we will provide a tax receipt for your donation. If you’d like to contribute to our auction, please note that it will take place in the May 2009 timeframe. As such, we’d like to request that gift certificates and tickets reflect an expiration date of December 2009 or later.
Our mailing address for donations: It’s Meow or Never Animal Rescue & Sanctuary PO Box 733 Woodinville, WA 98072 We hope that you’ll take a moment to help us with this very worthy cause! On behalf of the animals, thank you in advance for your generous contribution!
Sincerely,
Layla Colegrove

Our famous little friend, Donovan, has joined his friends and when he spotted the tree, he scaled right to the top to get a closer look at the star! He's a real acrobat and could really use a condo so he can play safely. In fact, the others would love to have a fun condo to play on. Just look at Whisper .. she's playing hide and seek with you -can you spot her??

Layla
The Holiday Room is great and I look very forward to the Valetine's Room and the Easter Egg Hunt!! She was up so late last night working with Flash and this morning she said to me, "if you ever want Flash work done, I am your girl". :) I have messed up the website a tad but she is redesigning another site so if you see anything strange, that's me. LOL You need a website? Go to http://www.ladybugwebsites.com/ and she will be sure to please with her skills and she donates 100% of the proceeds to us!
Her other business smells gooooood and is located at www.layla.etsy.com I can't believe how it's growing. She hand crafts bath bombs which are very fragrant and fun!! She has hand crafted dog biscuits, Kitty Kickers, pet beds, pupcorn, dog tugs and she mails out items for us everyday.
We had our auction in the middle of this year and she accepted all the items that were donated to us. She put the auction web page up on the internet. She mailed all these items out and that was tiring! She is a wonderful person, I can't express how I feel about her.
Thank you Layla for all your hard work that you do for me and the animals. You know we all love you to pieces!

Can you please help to warm the room up with your generosity by putting a fire in the fireplace?
Wednesday, December 10, 2008
Layla and I just left that room and poor Rufus ... it's so cold that there are icicles hanging from the fireplace! He's happy to have Whisper to keep him warm but his new bed's getting a bit crowded - it seems that while he was out for his daily walk, another kitty decided to make herself at home!
Can you help us with our room by going to http://www.itsmeowornever.org/xmas/xmas_room.asp?

FLOWERING TREE BOTANICALS!!
I have found that the best products are homemade items. Please visit her website and make a purchase, perhaps for the holidays. Her items make wonderful gifts. They won't go to waste, just image giving someone a sampler of spices, they are sure to be used.

Beagle Story
After the tornado (Greensburg, KS)
THIS IS SUCH A NEAT STORY
The story begins with the rescuers finding this poor little guy they named Ralphie.
Someone had already taken him under their wing but weren't equipped to adopt;
Ralphie, scared and starved, joined his rescuers..
I wouldn't think anything could live thru this... but we were wrong.
This little lady also survived that wreckage.
Here she is just placed in the car - scared, but safe
and then.. they are no longer alone!
Instant friends, they comforted each other while in the car.
Add two more beagles found after that...
the more, the merrier!
Oh boy, a new traveler to add to the mix...
(Note: the cat coming over the seat needing shelter.. )
Now just how is this going to work? (and remember they are all strange to one another)
It's going to work just fine, thank you very much!
Wow! The things we learn from our animal friends...
If only all of mankind could learn such valuable lessons as this.
Lessons of instant friendship.
Of peace and harmony by way of respect for one another -- no matter one's color or creed.
These animals tell you... 'It's just good to be alive and with others.'
Yes, it surely is.
So... Live, love, laugh.
'Life's a Gift... Unwrap It!'

A Day in the Life of a Feral Cat
Hurrying more than before. I know it's around here somewhere, but where? Was it under that fence, through the ivy and turn right at the tree or was it a left? No, I'll go right. If I am lucky there will still be water in the puddles for me to drink from last night when all the plants get wet and it rains in there.
Oh, sighing relief. It's just between this wall and the fence, a good place to be. Lots of big green plants, so I won't be seen while I sleep. The big Beings don't come to the back of this place full of trees, plants and bugs. Yes, that looks like a good place - right over there between that wall and all those big plants. I'll be safe here, I hope.
Wow, I am tired. The Dogs chased me last night. I am hungry too. I had to leave the spoiled meat in the trash can, when the Dogs came. Maybe they won't be around tonight and I can still find some scraps left.
I'll just push all these leaves all together in a pile and use it for a bed to sleep on. I am so glad it is summer again, it was so cold last winter, the tip of my tail fell off. That hurt so much.
Aw, I'll lay here and be very quiet like my Mom taught me to be. That big car got Mom just before winter started last year. Only me and one of my brothers made it this far. It was a bad winter. We tried to keep the 2 littler ones warm and fed. I guess we just weren't big enough to take care of them and us too. I miss them and my Mom. I think about her a lot.
Wow, what's that I hear? Sounds like water. I am thirsty; I'll go see before I go to sleep. Gets up and walks around listening. There it is. The Being didn't turn off that thing that shoots water out of it. It's dripping. Oh it tastes so good, much better than puddle water.
Walking back to the bed of leaves and curling up for a snooze. Dear Bast, our great Cat Goddess, thank you for the fresh water and not letting the dogs get me. Thank you for letting me get back to the nursery safe too. If you will Bast, let me find some food with no dogs around tonight, please. And of course bless my brother, the two little ones and my Mom.
Amen!

Ten Reasons to Not Dump Your Bunny
- Rabbits are domesticated - that means they cannot survive if abandoned in the wild.
- Everything in the big bad world is a predator to the domestic rabbit - even a cat.
- Rabbits are totally defenseless against cars, dogs, wildlife and guns.
- The diet of a domestic rabbit is radically different than that of its cousin, the wild rabbit. The domestic rabbit would not know the right things to eat!
- The stress of being released into a large field would easily frighten the rabbit to death. You don't ever want to hear a rabbit scream.
- The weather in the wild is not friendly to your pet rabbit.
- They have little to no wild instincts. They would not know where to go and hide.
- If the rabbit injured itself, it would be instant prey to a predator. Where would the rabbit get help?
- There are ticks and other nasty parasites in the wild. Your rabbit has no defense against the viruses left by an insect bite.
- Just because rabbits are silent does not mean they are "dumb". They are very intelligent, know you and need you.
Your pet rabbit deserves all the love and attention you promised to give it when you first got it. It is YOUR responsibility to take care of it, just as parents take care of their children. It is up to you, the rabbit's companion, to make sure that it lives a full and healthy life. Throwing him away is not what he deserves!
If you abandon your rabbit in the wild, you are giving him a death sentence. PLEASE - consider other options and contact us for advice. Rabbits are extraordinary creatures - they contribute to our lives in many joyful ways.
