Welcome to the blog for It's Meow or Never Animal Rescue, a 501(c)(3), non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization. We rescue cats and dogs and after having them seen by the vet, we adopt them to loving, forever homes. Please come back often as we will try and update this site every day.

Please contact us if you need adoption assistance with an animal - if you provide a photo of the animal, we can list it on national databases to help find it a suitable home.

Please*do not* ever give your animal away for free ... learn why.

Help Stop U.S. Birthrate of 5,500 Pets Per Hour

Every hour in the United States, more than 2,000 dogs and 3,500 cats are born, compared to 415 humans. The yearly statistics include more than 17 million dogs and 30 million cats. Add these animals to an existing pet population of 54 million dogs and 56 million cats and the total exceeds one hundred million!

Earlier puberty, multiple births and briefer pregnancies make dogs and cats far more prolific than humans.

Animal care and control agencies do their best to find loving, responsible owners for as many pets as possible, but there are simply not enough homes for all these animals.

American Humane estimates more than 15 million healthy, friendly dogs and cats will be euthanized this year simply because they are "unwanted".

You can save lives and help solve the pet overpopulation tragedy by neutering or spaying your pet. This will reduce the number of dogs and cats being euthanized by reducing the number of pets being born.

Hi and Gray Kitty

How is everyone? I have been busy with animals.

Gray Kitty needs you! She was on an antibiotic that is keeping her from becoming jaundice but she ran out of the prescription so she needs more meds. She wasn't eating very well either until the meds. Since her prescription ran out, she is starting to look a bit yellow again. :( I have a feeling it will take her life if she doesn't get her medication. Two vets have yet to determine what the illness is....I remember Kelly died the same way but she didn't get meds. :( I believe it's some type of weakness due to her having FIV. :(

If you can help her get her medication, she will love you forever.

Please go to www.itsmeowornever.org and donate for her.

Gray Kitty and Pumpkin

I need to take Gray Kitty to the vet, she is turning yellow (jaundice) so it is really important that she goes now. Seems to be similar to Kelly, she started turning yellow and died two weeks later. I don't want to lose her, I miss Kelly so badly. Pumpkin doesn't feel too well either. Please help Gray Kitty by donating at www.itsmeowornever.org and specify it's for Gray Kitty. Thank you.

Homeless Video Feedback: Mitchelyn (Catnappers)

"That is the most awesome video I've ever seen. About 3 or 4 years ago when I first saw it is what prompted me to get into TNR for feral and stray cats.

We live in a small town in Georgia and are on a very small scale. We are making some progress but it's slow, I'm sure you know. We were formerly known as STAFF but changed our name to CatNappers and I'm building a new website for us. Also in our area of Georgia, awareness is slim to none of ferals and their worth.

We would like to raise awareness and sensitivity, if at all possible, and would like to link your wonderful video to our website if you would give permission. Of course all credits would be given to your organization for the video, but it's something that needs to be seen by as many people as possible.

Thank you and continued good luck on your rescue operations and all that you do."

Homeless Video Feedback: "L.A"

"Boy, sure brought a few tears and also a warm feeling... I wish you could put this video on Craigslist and Kijiji where people dispose of animals and mass breed them for profit each and every day.

I try and post for urgent cases on freebie websites. Have my own rescues, old Ollie, Lucy Lou and Edward, all sad cases but adored now.

Wish I could do more but I am a believer in every bit counts. God Bless you."

"I just finished viewing your video tribute to homeless animals. It is one of the most poignant messages I've seen.

I am writing for permission to link to this video on my website, currently being built.

I am the founder of a cat rescue, Hannah's Hope Cat Rescue and Referral, in Rincon, Ga. You can get a feel for what we do on Petfinder."

Homeless Video Feedback: "Mandy V"

"I just watched your heartbreaking video, I am in the process forming a non profit organization in South Africa called Independent Rescue of Abused and Abandoned Animals, I think your video will really reach the hearts of many people and am therefore asking for permission to use it, I also run a homing “Animail” list in South Africa and would like to distribute the video to my network.

Your video is awesome but oh so sad, but it truly gets the message across."

Morgan

Morgan is in the hospital again! This time he has a Urinary Tract Infection and the vetʼs bill will be $260.00. Poor kitty, he had his teeth removed last month, now this problem!

If you can donate anything at all for him, we would appreciate it deeply. We canʼt afford all of this but he needs us to help him.

Please go to www.itsmeowornever.org and donate for him. He was really scared today at the vet's office. :(

Re: It’s Meow or Never Animal Rescue & Sanctuary Paws For A Cause Auction,
May 2009

My name is Layla Colegrove and I am the chairperson for the 2009 Annual Online “Paws for a Cause” auction to benefit It’s Meow or Never Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3), non-profit, no-kill organization. At It’s Meow or Never Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, we have a goal of raising $15,000 from this event. These funds will allow us to open an adoption center in the local area which will allow us to rescue and rehabilitate more animals in dire need. Last year’s auction web page is located at http://www.itsmeowornever.org/auction and will be updated every day.

We would love to have you help us with our auction by donating a gift certificate, product or service for our auction. In exchange, we can provide advertising on our auction web site with a link back to your company web site. Additionally, we will provide a tax receipt for your donation. If you’d like to contribute to our auction, please note that it will take place in the May 2009 timeframe. As such, we’d like to request that gift certificates and tickets reflect an expiration date of December 2009 or later.

Our mailing address for donations: It’s Meow or Never Animal Rescue & Sanctuary PO Box 733 Woodinville, WA 98072 We hope that you’ll take a moment to help us with this very worthy cause! On behalf of the animals, thank you in advance for your generous contribution!

Sincerely,
Layla Colegrove

Thanks to the kind souls who put a couple gifts under the tree - a lovely handpainted doggy lunch bag by "PetloversBoutique" and a nice ring cat toy. The bookshelf looks great with the new Lovebirds print by"kittyanydots". Whisper the cat decided that it was just too drafty sitting in front of the fireplace .. just look at that snow blowing in! Besides, she thinks that she balances out the mantle really nicely ... red candle, red kitty!

Can you please help to warm the room up with your generosity by putting a fire in the fireplace?

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

We're excited to have kittyanydots offer a her very nice Lovebirds print for our Holiday Room - it's now available for "virtual purchase" for our room.

Layla and I just left that room and poor Rufus ... it's so cold that there are icicles hanging from the fireplace! He's happy to have Whisper to keep him warm but his new bed's getting a bit crowded - it seems that while he was out for his daily walk, another kitty decided to make herself at home!

Can you help us with our room by going to http://www.itsmeowornever.org/xmas/xmas_room.asp?
